Jonathan Duhamel’s Ex-Girlfriend Sentenced

Published by on June 26, 2013

Montreal – Bianca Rojas-Latraverse, 23, was sentenced to 42 months in prison, plus 3 years of probation to follow, for her role in a break-in at ex-boyfriend Jonathan Duhamel’s condo in December 2011. Duhamel won the World Series of Poker Main Event in 2010, taking home $8.9 million, and a bracelet valued at over $40,000. That bracelet and another $60,000 worth of currency were stolen the night in December 2011. Rojas-Latraverse orchestrated the break-in as Duhamel was tied up and beaten by two men during the robbery.

Judge Anne-Marie Jacques cited Bianca’s lack of remorse in handing down the stiff jail sentence. Rojas-Latraverse has spent the last 18 months in preventive custody since her arrest. The judge also told the defendant that she hoped she would use her time in prison to reflect on what she did.
